Announcement on Amendments to the Rules on Payment Collection for Online Transactions on Alibaba.com (“Rules”)

Dear Alibaba.com members,

To ensure payment collections for online transactions on Alibaba.com are safe and compliant with applicable laws and regulations, we have revised the Rules for handling irregularities in online payment collection.

The Main Revised Content

1. Emphasize that sellers need to cooperate with payment fraud investigations, to provide genuine and valid evidence for the type of payment with respect to the Transaction Order.

2. Emphasize that the seller needs to ship the product after payment is collected, and the value of the shipped product is consistent with the amount collected.

3. A new clause added to emphasize that Alibaba.com reserves the right to close the Seller’s account on Alibaba.com and reserves the right to impose penalties on other accounts and/or other associated accounts opened by the Seller on Alibaba.com

Chapter III Handling of Irregularities in Online Payment Collection

The English name of the receiving account is inconsistent with the English name in any regulatory records or registration forms. The Seller is unable to provide a reasonable explanation for such inconsistency and does not cooperate with making any modifications(s).

The revised Rules will be published on December 09, 2021 and shall be effective on December 16, 2021.
